LONDON (June 13, 2018) - FGE is pleased to announce that Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, Founder and Chairman of FGE, has been invited to serve as a member of the National Petroleum Council for the 2018/19 term.

The invitation, which comes from U.S. Secretary of Energy, Mr. Rick Perry, calls upon Dr. Fesharaki to represent the views of financial and consultancy services related to energy market and public policy research and analysis.

Dr. Fesharaki has previously served as a member of the National Petroleum Council for many years, at the request of several former Secretaries of Energy. This latest invitation reflects Dr. Fesharaki’s depth of insight into the global energy markets, with particular emphasis in this instance on North America.

The National Petroleum Council (NPC) was founded in 1946 at the request of President Harry S. Truman, to continue the cooperation between industry and government that began during World War II. The council provides advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on matters relating to oil and natural gas and their associated industries. The NPC’s members represent all sectors of the oil and gas industries and related interests.
