European Gas Webinar

FGE is delighted to host a complimentary webinar introducing our new Europe Gas Monthly report, where we examine the importance of the world’s most liquid gas markets to global LNG trade.

In this webinar, FGE will give its views on developments relating to the European gas markets, providing attendees with the same level of in-depth analysis presented regularly in FGE’s new Europe Gas Monthly report. The liquidity offered by the European gas markets makes them ideally placed to balance global LNG supply and demand patterns. The emphasis of this webinar will be on how European market developments impact global LNG trade and how market participants can prepare for both short- and long-term market developments. We will touch upon the current status of European gas markets by discussing topics such as:

  • What does Europe’s gas inventory position look like? What does this mean for the winter ahead; is there anything non-European market participants should be looking at?
  • How do we see European hub prices evolving over the winter? Will any infrastructure shutdowns lead to price decoupling?
  • How are rising carbon prices impacting European gas demand?
  • Where will reload cargoes come from should price spreads be sufficient to justify them?

Additionally we will cover structural changes in European markets, answering questions such as:

  • Will TTF supersede NBP as Europe’s main gas hub, or indeed has this already happened? What does this mean for LNG contracts?
  • Given the high level of activity at Groningen, how might quota reductions impact European markets? Can the market adjust to declining domestic production? What might this mean for LNG trade?
  • What is Russia’s strategy, will Gazprom be able to keep down LNG’s market share or will the drive to diversify gas supplies be too strong?
  • How will the rise of renewables impact European gas demand; will this offset the impact of coal to gas switching?

LNG is truly leading to the globalisation of gas markets. No longer is it sufficient to just understand one’s own domestic market, looking at the global context is now equally important. For this reason, we hope you will also find this webinar both informative and useful. We look forward to presenting our market views and demonstrating FGE’s newest report focused on the European gas markets to you all.
