LONDON (October 27, 2016) – Back in April 2016, FGE announced that Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, Chairman of FGE, had been selected by the USAEE Awards Committee to receive the Adelman-Frankel 2016 award. On October 24, 2016, Dr. Fesharaki was presented with the award at the 34th USAEE/IAEE North American Conference in Tulsa, OK, by Mr. Peter Hartley, Immediate Past-President IAEE. IAEE is a key professional association representing several thousand members around the world.

The Adelman-Frankel award is given to an individual or organization for a unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics. Dr. Fesharaki joins an elite group of energy economists, including Adam E. Sieminski and Howard Gruenspecht of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (U.S. EIA), American economist Robert Pindyck, and Research Director of the Harvard Electricity Policy Group William H. Hogan.

Dr. Fesharaki said, "I am very honored to be the recipient of this prestigious award. I knew both Messrs. Adelman and Frankel who were the pioneers of the profession of energy economics and to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude. My two very good friends, Dennis O'Brien and Tony Finizza, chief economists of Caltex and Arco were the forces behind the creation of this award many years ago. I feel even more blessed that I was recognized by the award given and created by people I admire and respect. I thank the USAEE association for bestowing this honor on me."

Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki Biography

Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is the Founder and Chairman of FGE. FGE is a leading consulting group focusing on the oil and gas markets East of the Suez, Europe, and the United States, with offices in London, Singapore, Tokyo, Tehran, Dubai, and Honolulu. FGE was incorporated as Fesharaki Associates Consulting & Technical Services (FACTS), Inc. in 1984 by Dr. Fesharaki. His work is well-recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s.
