Based in San Francisco, Doug has over 25 years of gas, LNG, power, and downstream market experience and has closed major transactions in most global producer and consumer regions across every element of the gas value chain.
In 2000, Doug joined BP as the Original Head of Global LNG in London. In 2006, Doug transferred to Singapore where he continued to work with BP Upstream and Integrated Supply & Trading's (IST) LNG portfolio and participated as an IST Executive Committee member as Chief Commercial Officer. In 2015, after having worked for 15 years in leadership roles in London, Singapore, and San Francisco, Doug retired from BP, and is now working as an independent consultant.
Prior to working at BP, Doug was in a leadership role with Enron International in Houston developing power and LNG projects in the Americas. Doug graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1985 and received an MBA from the University of North Carolina in 1988. Early on in his career Doug worked as a currency and energy trader.
