Mr. Ajay Singh, Energy Expert and Management Advisor, Tokyo, Former Advisor to Chairman and President JAPEX
Ajay Singh is an energy expert and management advisor based in Tokyo. He is also founder of Global Energy, a venture for the development of green hydrogen supply.
Ajay has earlier worked with Shell in various capacities over 20 years, delivering projects and deals in the upstream, LNG and downstream businesses across India, the Middle East, Russia, China, Europe, West Africa and North America. Notable among these were Shell’s LNG marketing business in India and its upstream business in Iraq. He has substantial expertise in dealing with host governments, leading complex negotiations, managing international joint ventures and resolving disputes. Between 2014 and 2020, he served on the management team of Japan Petroleum Exploration Company (JAPEX), an enterprise owned mainly by the Government of Japan; during which he drove significant changes to the company’s LNG business, guided changes to corporate strategy, and undertook initiatives to improve organizational capability and management performance.
Ajay has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
